ATP Electronics Introduces PCIe 4.0 x2 CFexpess Type B Cards
ATP Electronics introduces the N600Si/Sc Series CFexpress cards Type B, the latest NAND-flash based high-speed memory cards to adopt the NVMe™ protocol over PCIe interface. Using the PCIe 4.0 x2 interface, they deliver superior, high-speed performance compared with other cards using the PCIe 3.0 x2 interface. N600Si/Sc Series CFexpress cards offer convenient portability with enhanced sequential read/write performance of up to 3,500/3,200 MB/s. These removable storage devices are backward-compatible with XQD. The N600Si/Sc Series CFexpress cards sport the Gen. 4 x2 interface and are also backward compatible with CFexpress Gen. 3 x2. They are suitable for convenient movement among different devices and provide dependable access in environments with little or no network availability.
The DRAM-less CFexpress cards feature Host Memory Buffer (HMB) support to improve random read performance. Tests also show a 58% drop in latency with HMB-enabled Quality of Service (QoS) writes. The N600Si/Sc Series CFexpress cards are constructed with 3D triple level cell (TLC) flash and come in a range of capacities meeting varied storage requirements, from 128 GB to 1 TB. They are available in pseudo single level cell (pSLC) flash according to customer request and by project support.
Built for rugged operating environments, the N600Si/Sc Series CFexpress cards offer extended endurance and reliable performance while operating under extreme temperatures, making them excellent choices for high-speed imaging, digital video recording, and other demanding applications in industrial PC/embedded, automation, networking, test and measurement, and transportation systems. The upcoming N600Si Series can support I-Temp operating ranges from -40°C to 85°C, while the N600Sc Series is rated for C-Temp operation at 0°C to 70°C.
The N600Si/Sc Series CFexpress cards support Active State Power Management (ASPM), enabling low power consumption at <2.7 mW (PS4 sleep) and <22 mW (PS3 standby), translating to huge power savings.
Also contributing to lower costs is software RAID 0 and RAID 1 support, so there is no need to invest in a hardware RAID controller. This means substantial savings and better compatibility, as RAID management is done by the processor without impacting system performance, and a RAID array can easily be configured with the built-in functionality. To ensure optimal sustained performance, the N600Si/Sc Series CFexpress cards continuously monitor device temperature and enable firmware-based throttling that adjusts performance without drastic drops.
TCG Opal 2.0 provides top-notch data encryption/decryption and optional hardware write‑protection security prevents data tampering and unauthorized write access to the device. For more information on ATP’s CFexpress Type B cards, visit: https://www.atpinc.com/products/industrial-CFexpress-NVMe
