ATP Electronics Offers Rare 64 GB DDR4 VLP RDIMMs

PC components May 9,2023 0

ATP Electronics introduces its 64GB DDR4 very low profile registered DIMMS (VLP RDIMMs) built for embedded blade compute and storage, industrial single-board computers, enterprise networking, and Internet of Things (IoT) systems processing memory-intensive workloads. The new product offers twice the density of typical 32GB VLP RDIMMs available in the market to meet the increasing memory requirements resulting from the endless generation of data from connected cars, smart factories, and other 5G IoT applications.

The high-performance 64 GB VLP RDIMMs are organized as 8192 MB x 72 bits in a 288-pin DIMM. Each module utilizes 18 chips of 8Gx4 DDR4 SDRAMs in dual-die package (DDP) stacked chips, consists of a 512-byte serial EEPROM containing the module information, and includes error correction code (ECC) to support error detection and correction.

Very Low Profile: Specially Constructed for 5G IoT, Edge Networks
As 5G IoT adoption continues to accelerate, data is moving from cloud storage to edge computing; hence, telecom, industrial, and enterprise segments require rugged server systems and cloud servers for their edge networks.

With a printed circuit board (PCB) height of just 18.75 mm or 0.74 inch, these VLP RDIMMs are perfect for industrial systems with small form factors and compact enclosure designs. They may be placed vertically within blade servers to save space and maximize air flow to dissipate heat effectively and keep the system cool.

RDIMMs: Better Signal Integrity, Comprehensive RAS
ATP’s new 64 GB DDR4 RDIMMs offer better signal integrity with its registering clock driver (RCD), which buffers command and address signals between the host memory controller and the DRAMs or memory chips on the DIMM. This buffering increases the power consumption and memory latency but allows for increased workloads and enables lower costs of ownership due to their higher performance, better scalability, and more comprehensive reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) features.

Optimized Performance
The new 64 GB VLP RDIMMs are optimized for Intel® Xeon® Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze Scalable processors, 8th-generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 processors and 3rd-Generation AMD EPYC™ Processor Family.

Customizable Option: Wide-Temp Operable
For deployments where thermal cycling is not critical, ATP’s 64 GB VLP RDIMMs are readily available in C‑Temp rating (0°C to 85°C). When installed in harsh environments with extreme temperature shifts, these DDR4 DRAMs may also be configured for I-Temp (-40°C to 85°C) for reliable 24/7 operation even in extreme cold or heat, especially in tight enclosures with little or no airflow.
