RMI Creates Platform for Personal Media Players and Digital Media Products with High-Quality DivX Video
Raza Microelectronics, a leading chip manufacturer, and DivX, Inc. (Nasdaq:DIVX), the digital media company that created the DivX media format, today announced that the RMI Alchemy Au1200(TM) Processor has received DivX Certification. Devices built upon the RMI platform will be able to take advantage of the processor's low-power and high performance solution to provide an easy design path for portable media players, automotive devices, and digital media adapters. All such devices will be able to decode high-quality DivX video.
The RMI Alchemy Au1200, a leading processor in the worldwide Personal Media Player (PMP) market, enables users to download media quickly and to enjoy high-quality video efficiently delivered at full-frame rates, with low-power, and with ample product features. The chip's integrated Media Acceleration Engine is capable of decoding DivX media files with up to D1 resolution at 30 frames per second. RMI provides DivX decode support on both Linux and Windows CE based SDKs.
