Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge Now Available Worldwide
The commercial launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge around the globe -- US, Europe, Singapore, Australia and Korea -- is a reality. The newest additions to the Galaxy family, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge feature a refined design, more advanced camera, streamlined software functionality and great connectivity to an array of products and services.
The 5.1-inch Galaxy S7 and 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 edge are constructed with 3D glass and metal. Both smartphones have increased utility with IP68 water and dust resistance, a microSD card slot and fast wired and wireless charging technology.
Thanks to the Dual Pixel technology, a brighter lens with wider aperture and bigger pixels, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge deliver brighter and sharper images, even in low light. Samsung also made significant hardware and software updates to optimize gaming performance on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. The powerful processor and bigger battery capacity ensure longer playing time, while the internal cooling system keeps the device from overheating. Game Launcher, a new add-on for gamers, allows users to manage battery consumption and minimize notifications.
Beyond the smartphones, Samsung is introducing a constellation of mobile experiences – whether it’s the connection between the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge and the new Gear S2 Classic to monitor fitness, or the connection with Gear VR to "travel" the world. Additionally, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge users have access to Samsung Pay.
In S. Korea, store prices of Galaxy S7 32GB and Galaxy S7 64GB are $694 (836,000 KRW) and $730 (880,000 KRW) respectively while prices of Galaxy S7 Edge 32GB and Galaxy S7 Edge 64GB are $767 (924,000 KRW) and $803 (968,000 KRW) respectively. These prices are lower than the prices of the previous Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge models, at the time of their launch.
Samsung is also giving out the 'Galaxy Game Pack', which offers to the buyers of the new devices game contents worth about $249 (300,000 KRW).
Samsung co-chief executive J.K. Shin said on Friday that the company has seen stronger preorder volumes for the new Galaxy S7 phones compared to last year's model.
