Samsung Plugs into the Gaming Arena with New Curved Monitors
Samsung is trying to expand its presence in the gaming marketplace by offering its first curved gaming monitors (the CF591, CF391 and CF390 models). First unveiled at CES in January 2016, Samsung’s curved gaming monitors are designed to match the natural shape of the human eye. This design includes a sharp 1800 mm (1800R) curvature radius that offers panoramic viewing angles. The CF591, CF391 and CF390 monitors feature a 3,000:1 contrast ratio.
The new monitors also support AMD's FreeSync Technology Over HDMI, which synchronizes screen refresh rates with users’ AMD graphics card frame rates to reduce input latency, stutter and lag.
Samsung’s CF591 curved monitors can be found at EA Games’ EA Play gaming convention, currently taking place (June 12-14, 2016) at the Novo at L.A. Live in Los Angeles. EA Games uses the CF591 monitor to preview several of its upcoming game releases, including FIFA 17, Madden NFL 17 and Titanfall 2, during the event.
Samsung also will launch a bundle promotion. Between June and September 2016, any U.S. or European consumer who purchases a new Samsung CF39 Series or CF591 curved monitor will receive a complimentary copy of a select EA Games title. Standard edition games available as part of the promotion include FIFA 16, Need for Speed, Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline.
Promotion participants will receive a promo code on their receipt, via email and/or through the Samsung website (www.samsung.com). This code can be redeemed for the free game download through the EA Games website (www.ea.com).
