Sony's DPT-CP1 Paper E Ink Tablet Coming Early June
Sony today unveiled the DPT-CP1, a new "Digital Paper" tablet available in an A5 size.
Compared to the already available DPT-RP1 model, the new version is just smaller. It comes with a 10.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1404 x 1872 at 224 dots per inch, and is capable of 16 levels of greyscale. The DPT-CP1 has 16GB of storage for PDF files, which can be shared with iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac devices through a companion app. It's 5.9mm thick and weighs about half a pound. It's battery will power the device for around a month before needing to recharge it, according to Sony.
The DPT-CP1 will likely to be a Japan-only product, and it will be priced at about 70,000 yen, or $650, when it will be available in early June.
