Spotify Now Free For Mobiles and Tablets

Spotify Now Free For Mobiles and Tablets

Smartphones Dec 11,2013 0

Spotify extended its free ad-supported music service iOS and Android users, confirming last week's report. Until now Spotify has offered a free-to-use product only on PCs, and had restricted its mobile apps to paying subscribers. But now a free service is brought to Android and iOS devices.

Mobile phone Users will able to create and listen to playlists and discover new music. With shuffle play, users will listen to all the available tracks of their favorite artist.

Tablet users will have more control, as they will be able to select specific tracks.

The company is also offering Spotify Premium service, which allows users to listen to tracks on demand, in high quality audio, without ads and even offline.

The firm is also dropping the 10-hours-a-month cap it previously placed on long-term users of its free services.

Spotify is launching in 20 new markets today and it is available to iOS and Android users and can be downloaded in the App Store and Google Play.

The company also announced it was adding Led Zeppelin's tracks to its library as a streaming "exclusive" and had teamed up with speaker manufactures to allow its premium members to send music wirelessly to their systems.

Last December Spotify announced that Metallica signed with the service.
