WriteUDF! UDF Writer for MS Windows Supports Blu-ray Disc Drives and Hard Disk Drives
Software Architects announced its release of WriteUDF! v1.0 for MS Windows.
vWriteUDF! enables Windows users to format, read and write to block addressable disks formatted in any version of the UDF format (Universal Disc Format). This includes writing support for new Blu-ray Disc drives and external hard disk drives. The software presents the 24 Gbyte capacity re-writable discs or any capacity hard disk drive as a drive letter in Windows Explorer. Files can be written by "drag & drop" or directly from any third party application that is Win32 API compatible.
The software also supports reading VR formatted DVD-RAM and DVD-RW discs containing recorded DVD video.
Solves Common File and Disc Interchange Problems
WriteUDF! Turns an ordinary hard disk drive or removable optical disc into a data distribution medium. Files saved to a hard disk drive formatted in UDF can be mounted and read on both Mac and Windows systems and many Linux and Unix systems that include a native UDF reader. Portable hard disk drives can be used on any computer system when traveling.
UDF has been used for years on MO and recordable DVD as a reliable transport medium for distributing files to other computer systems. Now, WriteUDF! Allows users to leverage the very high capacity of BD drives and hard disk drives in the same manner. For example, 100 Gbyte and larger size video files can now be transported and reliably accessed when traveling, regardless of the computer system to be used.
Supports A Wide Variety of Media Types and UDF Formats
Version1.0 supports UDF versions 1.02, 1.5, 2.0. 2.01, 2.5 and 2.6, and supports reading DVD discs containing data or DVD video files. WriteUDF! supports reading MMC compliant DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM and Blu-ray Disc re-writable drives and media, as well as writing to MO drives, Iomega Rev? drives, hard disk drives, even USB flash memory devices.
Key Benefits:
- Easy to use: simply drag & drop files to the volume.
- Mobile: drives formatted in UDF can be read on most computers running Windows, Mac OS, Unix or Linux.
- Supports any capacity drive or disc up to 2 terabytes.
- Versatile: mounts and reads both data discs and Video Recording format DVD discs.
