Xbox 360 Tops Black Friday Console Sales
Microsoft's Xbox 360 was once again the most popular game console during the week of Black Friday, followed by Sony's PS3 and the new Nintendo Wii U device.
Microsoft said it sold over 750,000 units of its Xbox 360 console during the week of Black Friday. Sony said it sold over 525,000 PlayStation 3 consoles and 160,000 PS Vita bundles, while Nintendo followed with over 400,000 units of its new Nintendo's Wii U device.
The results could deal a blow to Nintendo, which is hoping that the Wii U will revive growth and pull it out of the red in coming years.
However, Wii U's initial sales may have been curbed by insufficient supply.
The battle between the three game makers is expected to intensify when Sony and Microsoft launch their own next-generation PlayStation and Xbox (720?) consoles, expected in 2013.
