Youtube To Add Original Content
Google's YouTube is adding new channels of original programming, an effort to attract viewers with professionally produced content.
"Talented creators and original entertainment will soon join YouTube's existing channel lineup, including channels created by well-known personalities and content producers from the TV, film, music, news, and sports fields, as well as some of the most up-and-coming media companies in the world and some of YouTube?s existing partners," Youtube said on Friday.
These channels will includes comedies fan, sports, music culture content, the company added. Content from actress Amy Poehler, actor Ashton Kutcher and basketball star Shaquille O?Neal, as well as news will be also provided.
For advertisers, these new Youtube channels will represent a new way to engage and reach their global consumers.
The first of these new original channels will appear on YouTube starting next month and will continue over the next year, Google said.
Last year, YouTube unveiled a program that provides grants to promising video producers.
