Zynga Opens Its Gaming Site
Online game publisher Zynga relaunched its website on Thursday. This time users can play online games without first signing on to Facebook.
New players won't have to use their Facebook accounts to play, although existing players will still be able to log in with their Facebook credentials.
The new Zynga.com website is the latest step in the dissolution of Zynga Inc's partnership with Facebook. For many years Zynga was deriving almost 90 percent of its revenues from Facebook games, while Facebook received 15 percent of its income in the form of fees from Zynga.
Last year, Facebook and Zynga announced that their deal that gave Zynga special privileges on the Facebook platform had expired.
