Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 Brings G70 Features to Workstations
NVIDIA today announced the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 graphics processing unit (GPU), a G70-based solution offering fifty percent more horsepower than the previous generation ultra high-end product.
At the same time, the company announced a high-end model based on the G71 GPU architecture,
the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450. Both models support the PCI Express interface and NVIDIA SLI
multi-GPU technology.
The supported architecture is claimed to enable over 2x improvement in geometry and fill rates with the industry?s highest performance for professional CAD, DCC, and scientific applications.
The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 offers a combination of features, including a unified 512MB frame buffer memory and SLI technology support. In addition, the card supports a 128-bit floating point frame buffer and 12-bit sub-pixel precision.
Support for 32x full-scene antialiasing (FSAA), four dual-link displays with a single system, use of multiple GPUs through the Quadro G-Sync option, are included in the card's capabilities besides the support for Shader Model 3.0.
Also introduced today, the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450 GPU is a more cost-effective graphics solution. This single slot card also supports SLI Frame Rendering mode, which allows the power of two of these cards to be combined in a single system to drive a single high resolution display. It supports SLI Multi View mode as well, which allows users to pair any two NVIDIA Quadro FX PCI Express boards in a workstation and drive up to four high resolution displays.
Basic specifications:
Quadro FX 4500
Memory Size 512MB
Memory Interface 256-bit
Graphics Memory Bandwidth 33.6GB/sec.
Graphics Bus PCI Express
Quadro FX 3450
Memory Size 512MB
Memory Interface 256-bit
