Pioneer Announces KURO KRP-600M, a 60-inch Plasma
Pioneer Japan has just announced the KURO KRP-600M, ready for release later this month.
The successor of the company's previous 60" model (PDP-6010HD) launched last October supports full HD resolution (1,920?1,080) and offers five times "darker" blacks and a greater dynamic contrast range.
It also sports 2 x HDMI ports, Ethernet port, 1 x composite along with the usual ports. Using the Web Control panel you can toggle the power, change the input source, etc from the browser of a network connected PC. The TV's power consumtion is 487W (0.3W idle).
The KURO KRP-600M goes on sale in Japan later this month for 850,000 Yen ($8500). Pioneer is also working on a 50-inch version (KRP-500M) which is scheduled to hit stores by end of 2008.
