Pioneer Japan today released new firmware updates for both internal and external X13 Blu-Ray Recorders. At the change log it was mentioned only ".. Improvement of the playback operation with specific media". Note that if you update firmware, the drive will not revert to older firmware versions. Firmware updaters are available for both Windows/MAC operating systems.

External BD/DVD/CD
- BDR-X13U-S / BDR-X13UBK -> v1.03

Internal BD/DVD/CD
- BDR-S13U-X / BDR-S13UBK / BDR-213ULBK(BDR-2213) -> v1.04
