Intel has shipped two new ultra-low-voltage Celeron processors this month as the company fills out its Sandy Bridge chip lineup for budget laptops. Intel's dual-core Celeron 857 is clocked at 1.2GHz, has 2MB of RAM and is priced at US$134 for 1,000 units. The single-core Celeron 787 has a clock speed of 1.3GHz, 1.5MB of RAM and is priced at $107. Both processors have on-chip graphics (Intel HD graphics) and draw 17 watts of power.

The new Celeron CPUs lack some features found at the Sandy Bridge chips, such as Turbo Boost and Quick Sync. They are typically used in basic laptops for office use.

Intel is also expected to release more andy Bridge-based Pentium and Celeron chips in the second half of this year. These will include models for both notebooks and desktops. Celeron CPU lineup is expected to include the dual-core Celeron G540 (2.5GHz) and G530 (2.4GHz), and single-core Celeron G440 (1.6GHz) processors for desktop PCs.

For notebook platforms, Intel will launch dual-core Celeron B840 and B800, and single-core Celeron B710 as well as an ultra-low-voltage single-core Celeron 787 processors.

For netbooks, Intel is set to launch dual-core Atom N2800 and N2600 CPUs, while for nettops, Intel will offer dual-core Atom D2700 and D2500 models.
