Yahoo Buys Jybe Mobile App
Yahoo acquired a small mobile start-up company that was founded by
former employees of the company.
The Jybe team first set off two years ago to bring mobile users
personalized recomendations on food and entertainment based on data
contained in social networks.
Yahoo did not disclose the price of its deal.
The five members Jybe team will be joining Yahoo.
"We can't wait to apply what we've learned about recommendation, personalization and the mobile experience to the hundreds of millions of people who come to Yahoo every day," the Jybe team said in a statement.
The Jybe service will be closed down, but a tool will be provided to users so they can download and keep all their data.
