HTC One, Motorola Phones To Get Android KitKat Update Soon
HTC has followed the official announcement of Android Kitkat saying that the HTC One will receive an update to the new operating system within 90 days.
HTC also said that the Google Play edition HTC One would receive the update within the next 15 days. The Developer edition and unlocked versions will get it within 30 days.
Users of most Motorola phones will also get the Android 4.4 KitKat update. All Moto X variants including the Droid Mini, Ultra, Maxx, Razr HD, Razr Maxx HD and Razr M devices will be updated "soon," according to the company. However, the Droid Bionic, Razr Maxx and Droid 4 are all confirmed staying on Android 4.1.2.
We are expecting similar news for Samsung, Sony, and LG Android smartphones.
However, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is not on the list of devices to receive Android 4.4 KitKat. It seems that the issue is related to the phone's hardware, and specifically a Texas Instruments-built chipset.
Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 devices will receive the upgrade to Android 4.4 in the coming weeks.
