AsusTek Computer is planning to add a 5.5-inch quad-core version of its ZenFone smartphones in the following months, according to a report by the Chinese-language Commercial Times. Intenting to capitalize on the popularity of large-screen smartphones, AsusTek will offer a ZenFone of the same size by the end of this year at the earliest to complement its line of 4-inch, 5-inch and 6-inch ZenFones, the report said.

The low-cost Android-powered ZenFones have been popular in Taiwan and other markets since their launch in early April. The company said it had sold more than 1 million ZenFones in Taiwan as of early October.
