Square Launches Cash Register Service

Square Launches Cash Register Service

Enterprise & IT Nov 21,2014 0

Mobile payments company Square has launched Square Register, a software that would allow shopkeepers to track sales and provide digital receipts. Designed to replace cash registers - according to Jack Dorsey, CEO of Square, Chairman of Twitter and a founder of both - the app is a point-of-sale system designed to run on a smartphone or tablet (Android and iOS) , on your counter or on the go. It takes care of digital receipts, inventory, and sales reports and provides analytics and feedback to retailers.

The app is recording cash, cards, or any other kinds of payments through Square Register. Retailers can populate a spreadsheet with their sales history for tax purposes, manage their inventory free from anywhere and also see what’s working and what’s not in real time with Square Analytics. With Square Register, retailers can also email receipts or print them out.

The software was only available in Canada, Japan and the United States, where it tracked around four million sales a day.

It can now be downloaded for free everywhere else and supports 130 currencies, although it will not allow actual payments for the moment.
