Dolby Dimension Wireless Headphones Enhance Home Entertainment

Dolby Laboratories, Inc. is introducing a new way to experience shows, movies, and music with Dolby Dimension — a wireless headphones designed for home entertainment.

Dolby Dimension offers consulers cinematic sound, while staying connected to their everyday life moments, all while binge watching their favorite hit series on Netflix, iTunes, or Amazon Prime Video. And when entertainment created in Dolby Atmos is played , users will automatically get the best sound for it over a Bluetooth connection. In addition, Head Tracking makes the sound seem like it’s always coming from your screen, even when you turn your head.

Dolby LifeMix is a proprietary new technology central to the Dolby Dimension. It allows consumers to control how much they hear of their surroundings - from a blend of their entertainment and life around them (Transparency) to shutting out the world (Active Noise Cancellation).

With Dolby Dimension, a single button press connects users straight to their device. It features three Source Buttons that can be paired with three different devices. And with the Dolby Dimension app, you can manage up to eight devices.

The headphones feature custom-designed 40mm acoustic drivers, an advanced microphone array, and proprietary signal processing.

Additionally, the Dolby Dimension app, available for free on iOS and Android platforms, allows people to adjust key features — such as Dolby LifeMix, Virtualization, and Head Tracking — and manage paired devices. The included Power Base gives their Dolby Dimension a home within their home, keeping it charged while not in use and accessible for the next binge session. Get a full charge in about two hours to binge-watch a whole season, and enough power in 15 minutes to watch a movie. A separate micro USB cable is also included for charging on the go.

Touch Controls on Dolby Dimension let people toggle LifeMix, hit play or pause, adjust volume, go forward or back, activate Siri or Google Assistant, and take calls — all without having to pick up a remote or their source device.

Dolby Dimension will be available for $599 (US) in the United States beginning today.
