Mitsubishi Electric starts mass production of 250mW red laser unit for 16X recording

General Interest May 19,2004 0

Mitsubishi announced the development of the red semiconductor laser for 16X DVD recording. Mass production of the "ML1XX25 series" will start end of May. The new laser unit supports recording for all DVD recordable/rewritable formats. The 16x recording speed requires a 250mW laser power, while the 12x (200mW) is already supported by the previous series of the company (MX1XX23).

Mitsubishi technology guarantees flawless DVD recording and problems due to high heat when writing at 16x have been over passed. For more information visit www.mitsubishielectric.co.jp
