DeepCool Assassin IV CPU Cooler
1. Introduction
DeepCool has a long tradition of producing quality products, and recently announced a new air cooler called the Assassin IV that promises to be your ultimate weapon when dealing with high-end CPUs, like the AMD 7950X or the Intel 14900K. Today we will examine what this product can deliver paired with the fastest ever AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, so let's begin! The Assassin IV comes to replace another well-known air cooler, the Assassin III series, with a very slick design/aesthetics, silent operation, and improved thermal dissipation
At the heart of the ASSASSIN IV are seven heat pipes and a dual-tower design, providing top-tier heat dissipation. The simple and clean housing encases two densely packed fin towers, complemented by one 120mm and one 140mm FDB fan, which promise optimal airflow and maximum compatibility. DeepCool has re-designed the Assassin IV and the back 120mm fan is now able to be relocatabled 120mm fan, which allows for maximum RAM clearance. This elegant design not only enhances the cooler's aesthetics but also ensures that compatibility with various RAM configurations is never compromised.
Speaking of compatibility, the ASSASSIN IV supports a wide range of sockets, including Intel's 1700, 1200, 115x, and 20xx, as well as AMD's AM5 and AM4. With the ASSASSIN IV, you won't have to worry about whether your CPU is supported. But what truly sets the ASSASSIN IV apart is its versatility.
With a simple slide of a switch, the ASSASSIN IV can switch between Quiet and Performance modes, catering to different needs. In Quiet mode, it operates at a mere 22.6 dB(A), making it a whisper-quiet cooler for when low noise is crucial. In Performance mode, it boasts a 280W TDP rating. The secret behind its silent operation lies in its three-phase, six-pole fan motors, which consume low voltage and power while extending the fan's useful life, reducing noise and vibration.
Installation of the ASSASSIN IV should be easy with a user-friendly design. More on this later in our review.
