Samsung announces the world's first 52X RW combo drive!
The world's first 52X RW combo drive has come out. It is the same speed as the fastest speed of CD-RW, and it has DVD-Player function
and Mt. Rainier function. It has all 4 other products ― (CD ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD ROM) functions
The world famous Samsung, µ®Optic drive fieldµ― developed a RW combo drive with a CD-RW (Able to record a CD ROM) function that is pre-step of a DVD ROM drive (Able to record a DVD ROM), and it plans to distribute a product to domestic and abroad at the same time at the end of Feb.
The RW combo drive (Model name: SM-352) of Samsung drives a CD ROM, CD-RW, and DVD ROM in the same time. It is s multi-function product, so users can enjoy it in a digital environment.The Samsung combo drive has the same speed as the fastest CD-RW, and it is a multi function digital product with a DVD-Payer function and Mt. Rainier function.
Samsung combo drive has 16X DVD ROM, 52X CD-R, 24X CD-RW, and 52X CD ROM, so it drives a game and picture with a large capacity, records/edits MP3 files, and plays all kinds of optic media. By adding new techniques, Ultra speed function and MT. Rainier, the CD-RW speed has been upgraded.
Especially, it is perfectly compatible with a CD-R (Recordable: 1 time) / RW(Rewritable: over 1,000 times) and with a game copying program software. It also uses all kinds of MPEG2 software of domestic and abroad.
Also, it has an installing function in horizontal and vertical way for saving space, an automatic recognizing operation status function for raising a usersµ― efficiency. It is designed in black and ivory colors to satisfy customerµ―s needs,
The [SM-352] not only plays a general CD ROM title and a DVD series (DVD ROM, DVD-VIDEO, and etc.), but also plays a CD title that is CD extra standard which has an image and text of a music CD, and it records a multi session for picture recording such as photo CD, game CD, CD-R/RW. Also, it is perfectly usable in Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, and XP.
The world market share of the combo drive is expected to sharply grow up to 15 million in 2003 and 40 million in 2004. It is predicted that a CD-RW market would be gradually substituted with a combo drive.
