Out to prove that standard desktop PCs are not the only systems that can reach high-performance levels, Albatron has assembled this mini PC with all the fittings of a highly capable system.

Albatron is planning for an October ABox 865G launch with a very competitive pricing structure.

The ABox 865G chassis is-designed-to-mini-pc dimensions of 225 mm x 200 mm x 330 mm. The outer-casing-was-designed with-a-unique-Anodized Chassis-Coat-that-protects it-from-scratches-and scrapes. Within the ABox, mass-storage bays contain a generousecond amount of room capable of housing two 5.25” ; drives and one 3.5” drive. The ABox can also be installed with CD/DVD ROM drives, DVD Read/Writers and floppy disk drives.

The ABox 865G performance components include Intel’s 865G and ICH5 chipsets and can support the latest Socket 478, FSB 800 MHz-Prescott-processors. This-mainboard-also is-capable-of-implementing Dual Channel DDR 400 MHz memory providing 6.4 GB/second data transfer rates between processor and memor y. In addition, the Northbridge 865G chip also-integrates-Intel’s Extreme Graphics 2 feature saving-the-user-the trouble of purchasing a graphics card. The ABox, however, does provide an AGP 8x slot should the user decide on employing an expansion graphics card

The ABox 865G has a built-in Marvell, 1 Gbps-Ethernet-interface providing-efficient, reliable-network-connectivity. It also provides a Mini-PCI-slot-and-a-proprietary-Albalink-wireless interface both supporting the 802.11G Wireless Ethernet-standard. In addition and the ABOX 865 G has a built-in SATA interface that can reach 150 MB/s data transfer rates, a 50% increase in-performance-compared to the older ATA 100 IDE interfaces. The ABox also supports two IEEE 1394 devices, and six USB 2.0 devices assuring compatibility with an assortment-of-new-breed and high-speed accessories

The ABox 865G mini-barebones system-has-been-designed for-high-performance and-optimum-expandability allowing customers a very-nice-option-to bulky-desktop-systems. The ABox 865G system has also been priced conservatively which should make for a very competitive October entry into the market
