Amazon.com unveiled Amazon Go, a technology that lets shoppers buy groceries without having to scan and pay for them and wait in line for checkout.

With the "Just Walk Out" Shopping experience, consumers simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take the products they want, and go!

The company is testing the system in Seattle (2131 7th Ave, Seattle, WA, on the corner of 7th Avenue and Blanchard Street.)

The checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by the same types of technologies used in self-driving cars: computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning. The technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you?re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, Amazon will charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt.

Amazon Go is currently open to Amazon employees in Amazon's Beta program, and will open to the public in early 2017.
