AOpen introduces Intel Pentium 4HT 4GHz support

AOpen introduces Intel Pentium 4HT 4GHz support

PC components Aug 11,2004 0

AOpen has officially launched its latest Cube system (aka mini bare systems) - the XC Cube EX915. Using the Intel 915G chip set and LGA 775 CPU socket, it has perfected the functionality of a state-of-the-art Cube system. For those who pursue extreme performance in a space-saving and efficient design, the XC Cube EX915 offers the perfect solution. The XC Cube EX915 model is the first Cube system supporting the new Intel Pentium 4 Prescott 3xx and 5xx-series CPUs, incorporates the latest LGA775 CPU socket, and has an external bus speed of 533/800 MHz. It supports Pentium 4 Prescott CPUs of up to 4GHz supporting Intel's Hyper Threading Technology. AOpen has especially developed a 4-way voltage technique to stabilize the CPU even further. Combined with the XC Cube's proprietary CPU cooling system, heat pipe, and side-blowing fan, it enables the CPU to function for long hours and at high speeds. With the CPU running at full speed, the XC Cube's unique SilentTek silencing technique makes for a low-noise and quiet working environment.

The XC Cube EX915 makes use of a special heat sink. This heat sink includes four copper heat ducts to help cool the CPU, and an ultra thin copper heat pipe with side-blowing fan to vent the hot air out through the ventilation holes of the system, putting to rest once and for all the consumer's worries of overheating Cube systems.

The XC Cube EX915 has both a PCI Express*16 and a PCI slot, offering users more expansion possibilities. The PCI Express*16 supports the latest USB technology, enabling a data flow speed between the cards and the CPU of up to 8GHz. When used with an additional VGA card an even higher performance can be achieved. The PCI Express*16's built-in 1GB/sec high-speed Internet support results in top connection speed for your computer.

The XC Cube EX915 uses the Intel 915G chipset, with built-in Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900, for higher resolution and efficiency, providing excellent performance for 3D video games based on Direct X9 and Open GL. Even without an additional VGA card, users are able to experience high-performance video games at the lowest budget. For those who pursue an even higher visual quality, users can add the AOpen Aeolus PCX 5750 VGA card. Through its four times better performance than the AGP 8X, users can experience 3D virtual reality games as never before.

To anticipate future expansion needs, the XC Cube EX915 is also the first to incorporate a high-efficiency 275 Watt micro power supply. Despite its small size, it easily satisfies the demand for more power from VGA and PCI cards.

The XC Cube EX915 has a built-in 5.1 Channel sound card, four S-ATA connectors, eight USB ports, three IEEE 1394 ports, two 3.5" hard-disc drive bays, and a 5.25" drive bay. Besides meeting price and efficiency demands, AOpen has also provided enough space for future expansion; although mini in size it offers maximum expansion possibilities.
