AT&T to Offer Napster on Samsung SLM
AT&T will be launching a new phone that will also feature a first time service from the the big provider, song downloads over the air.
This Friday, the 23rd of November, AT&T will be launching the Samsung SLM. The SLM is a lightweight, flip phone, with a 2 megapixel camera and 176x220 pixel screen. It is not unlike the Samsung SYNC, What is different about this phone, is that it can download songs over the air, unlike the SYNC before it, which could only transfer songs from a PC.
This is a first for AT&T, who will be offering subscribers the ability to buy songs over the air at $1.99 per song, or $7.49 for 5 from the Napster Mobile service (AT&Ts answer to Verizon's V Cast Music and the Sprint Music Store). It will also support AT&T's Video Share service.
The cost of the new phone will be $149.99 with a 2 year contract and after a $50 rebate. This includes a 512MB MicroSD memory card to store music on, although the phone supports up to 4GB cards, and an adapter for 3.5mm headsets or headphones.
