Avago To Buy Broadcom: report
Avago Technologies is reportdly in talks to buy chipmaker Broadcom.
Reuters reports that a deal between the two companies is near, and that an announcement could be expected ebven this week.
Avago develops semiconductor devices for the wireless and industrial markets, and an acquisition of Broadcom would help the company expand in areas ranging from analog semiconductors to radio frequency technology.
Earlier reports claimed that Avago has been looking to buy Xilinx, Renesas Electronics and Maxim Integrated Products Inc.
