Backup-Burner CD-Recording component announced

Backup-Burner CD-Recording component announced

General Interest Nov 21,2002 0

Developers and software authors can now easily offer Backup-to-CD data archiving to their programs. Backup-Burner is a component for adding CD burning capability to software programs. Backup-Burner is unique because it comes complete with the form already designed, whereas other burning libraries require the developer to do substantial coding and error handling. Backup-Burner contains the entire user-interface (GUI) and handles all the conditions that crop up in the recording process. The component could be used in any software employing databases, collections of photos or documents, or any program that generates valuable data requiring backup. Another use is to record the installation (setup) file and customer registration information to CD for a permanent copy, providing assurance to the user. The publisher is Net-Burner (www.net-burner.com), creators of many popular CD titles such as "MP3-Burner The Simple Way!".

The component writes at high speeds on almost every burner. The simple user interface requires no user input such as recording speeds or other complex issues, it is all automated for them. It writes to blank CD-Rs and CD-RWs. It will even ask to erase a full CD-RW first, which is economical for a user that backs up his files frequently.

The GUI has customizable colors and title text. The developer uses just one function call. He/she has the program select a folder to backup, passes some values (including color and text) to the dll, and waits for the function to return with a result code after burning is complete. All files and subfolders in the selected folder are burned to CD.

Backup-Burner runs on all Windows OS's and includes its own built-in ASPI manager. Backup-Burner is compatible with many languages including VB, Delphi, C++, and C#. The SDK comes with a Demo exe, example source, and the dll. Licensing starts at $200.00 US. More info and downloads at http://www.net-burner.com/Products/Backup-BurnerAdd-onSDK.cfm
