The be quiet! Dark Base 901 series was highly praised at our initial black color review. This is a top-of-the-line premium PC case from be quiet!, with excellent build quality and so many features, some of them shared with the smaller Dark Base 701 series we saw earlier. The Dark Base Pro 901 White Color retail package includes exchangeable panels in the box. A detachable top and front bracket with an included fan hub and pogo pin connector allows for a comfortable installation of radiators and fans. Even an inverted layout can be done easily thanks to a rail system. The Dark Base Pro 901 includes be quiet!'s white Silent Wings 4 fans. Since this is a big PC Case can pack at the front a radiator of up to 420mm and additional fans can be installed throughout the case, even on the side panel. The package includes also a VGA holder in white color.

Two cable bars, one located inside the VGA holder and the other next to the motherboard tray, hide the cables inside the case. The Dark Base Pro 901 is one of the few PC cases that support the installation of one 5.25" drive and two HDDs or six SSDs out of the box, with the option to expand this with 5x HDD or 10x SSD. The build material is aluminum for the top and front covers, side panels are made out of steel (left) and 4mm tempered glass for the left panel. The bottom four stands are also made out of steel this case is solid! be quiet! states that the used steel confirms the SGCC standard. SGCC steel is a soft-forming quality hot dip galvanized steel. SGCC is a material grade and designation defined in the JIS G 3302 standard. JIS G 3302 is a Japanese material standard for hot dip galvanized steels. There are two removable dust filters one at the front front and 1x at the bottom. be quiet! has its 1st priority sound dampening and for that reason has included insulation at the top, front, and back side panels, while also installing anti-vibration pads at HDDs, installed fans, PSU bay, and motherboard tray. The front solid panel can also be replaced with a steel mesh cover, that is included in the accessories box in case you want more airflow than sound dampening.

be quiet! has included white versions of the Silent Wings 4 140X140/X25mm PWM fans, 2X at the front and 1X at the rear. If you want to max out the fans in this case you can spend a lot of money since the case supports 11x total fans installed:

The front I/O Panel includes x1 USB 3.2 Gen. 2 Type C, x4 USB 3.2 Type A, and 1x HD Audio I/O Mic + Audio, while there is a pre-installed 15watt Qi charger / Quick Charging Option for mobile use. The front panel includes touch controls for fans and ARGB lighting. You can either sync ARGB/fans with the system or make them individually. All buttons are back illuminated and you cannot adjust the lighting.

The Dark Base Pro 901 includes side and front LED illumination, with 8+16 pieces that are powered via ARGB - 5V and can be synchronized with the controller/motherboard.

You can install CPU coolers, up to 190mm. When an (optional) HDD cage isn't installed, users can install up to 495mm of Graphics cards, while with an HDD cage installed, this is reduced to 370mm. This is a very spacious PC case and users can install,

It's possible also to install 420mm radiators at the top of the case if you wish to mod this case and remove the Qi wireless pad. At the bottom PSU area, there is a lot of space to get even big-sized PSUs, you have around 33cm of free space to make proper cable management. An exploded view of the case and be found below. The top panel can be opened by pressing the panel and a clatch is being used. Probably we would like to see magnetic panels with such a high retail price. At the top area, you can see more airflow vends, the top metal panel includes all the necessary holes to secure fans and big 360 radiators and also includes a mini-board for fans that can power them. Inside the case, you can open the front plastic PSU shroud panel. This panel also includes more sound-dampening material and a cable for the side ARGB lighting. The PSU area is rather big with around 35cm of free space to install big Power supplies. be quiet! has looked at small details as well, you will find dampening material where the PSU is placed. At the back, you can see two bay trays for 3.5" or 2.5" devices. Above that you can see 5 removable bays (you need to get the extra HDD cage 2 to fit more HDD drives. Four metal plates can be used for cable management and routed around the back. Of course, two more 2.5"HDDs can be installed on the motherboard tray. The PSU-free space is enormous and very easy to fit big power supplies for your rig.

The Dark Base Pro 901 has been designed in mind with a flexible motherboard tray for an inverted layout. That means you can invert the motherboard orientation/VGA and have a not-very-usual internal view

Another neat feature is the included VGA holder that can keep your heavy 4090 graphics card in its place. This can be used in both normal/inverted cases to secure VGA cards. be quiet! also will sell their own VGA Riser Cable (PCIe 4.0 cards certified) to have a vertical installation of the graphics card. The included GPU holder has a magnetic bottom so it can be secured without any screws. The GPU holder and be adjusted up/down to match your system preferences. Due to its size, it's possible to block some air ventilation of the graphics card, perhaps it should be somewhat small at the top or with ventilation holes as well.
