BenQ Announces Its First 3LCD HD Projection System

BenQ Announces Its First 3LCD HD Projection System

Consumer Electronics Apr 27,2007 0

BenQ unveils its first HD ready, 3LCD projector with Hollywood Quality Video (HQVTM) video processing. Featuring a host of new projection technologies that deliver native 720P resolution, high definition images. The projector boasts both horizontal and vertical lens shifting capabilities and a digital HDMI AV input.

BenQ uses three LCD?s to crisply reproduce. Each LCD is dedicated to a primary color that together creates a full 1.07 billion-color palette.

"The W500 features Hollywood Quality Video (HQVTM) that enhances video imagery and removes artifacts through new video processing technology, delivering the best image quality regardless of the source," stated Dumas Chen, BenQ USA Product Manager.

HQV processing represents an advanced de-interlacing technique: a true pixel-based motion-adaptive approach. With HQV processing, motion is identified at the pixel level rather than the frame level. While it is technically impossible to avoid discarding pixels in motion during de-interlacing, HQV processing is careful to discard only the pixels that would cause combing artifacts, and negatively impact picture quality.

The BenQ W500 is equipped with a Dynamic IRIS, 1100 lumens and a 5000:1 aspect ratio. The throw ratio of the projector is a large 100" at 10.8 feet. The projector is compatible with a wide range of formats including: NTSC, PAL, SECAM, EDTV, HDTV (1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576p, 576i, 480p, 480i) It is also system compatible with XGA, SVGA, VGA, Macintosh, HDTV (1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576p, 576i, 480p, 480i). For dependability, the projector is dustproof with an air filter and has a lamp life of 2000 hours.

The projector arrives with a host of standard accessories including remote control, user manuals, quick start card, plus power cord and component cable. There are optional accessories available such as a ceiling mount, spare lamp kit and HDMI cable. The W500 has a MSRP of $1,499. with an estimated street price of $1,299, and is available immediately through Pro A/V dealer , E-Tailers in the U.S.
