BenQ lands OEM order for 100,000 color-laser printers from Lexmark
BenQ recently obtained an OEM order for the delivery of 100,000 color-laser printers to Lexmark, with shipments to continue within a two-year timeframe, according to Taiwan printer vendors.
BenQ has previously been involved in OEM production of color inkjet printers and multi-function peripherals (MFPs) for Epson, the vendors indicated. The company has now advanced its assembly capabilities from inkjet MFPs to color-laser printers.
For inkjet MFPs, Lite-On Technology is currently the sole Taiwan OEM maker assembling products for Lexmark.
In inkjet printers, Primax Electronics is an OEM producer for Canon, and Cal-Comp Electronics an OEM maker for Hewlett-Packard (HP).
