Computex: New Dell Inspiron Laptops, 2-in-1 and Desktop Devices For Everyday Computing Needs
Dell announced at Computex 2015 a new line-up of Inspiron devices, offering a wide range of technology solutions to meet families’ everyday computing needs. The new portfolio includes the Inspiron 5000 Series laptops, Inspiron 15 7000 Series 2-in-1, Inspiron 15 7000 Series performance notebook, Inspiron 20 & 24 3000 Series All-in-One desktops, and a full line of Inspiron Desktops.
The Inspiron 5000 Series of laptops is now available with an even broader array of processor options from Intel and AMD.
The AMD versions are powered by the new A-series chips, code-named Carrizo. The chips offer up to twice the battery life when playing video as the previous A-series chips, codenamed Kaveri. They also deliver up to 65 percent better graphics performance, but only nominal improvements in CPU performance.
The 14-inch and 15-inch models will also be available with Intel Celeron and Pentium chips code-named Braswell next month. Dell didn’t say if Core chips would be offered as an option on the laptops.
Standard features of the 14", 15" and 17" notebooks include high resolution displays, firm keyboards for easy typing, long battery life, and wireless performance. An optional touch display is available in either FHD 1080p resolution on the 15" and 17" models, or in HD (14", 15"). Other options available include a precision touchpad, backlit keyboard and True Color, which allows users to customize the display’s color temperature, vibrancy and tone.
The Inspiron 5000 Series notebooks are now available in the United States, Canada, EMEA and APJ regions and on Dell.com starting at $599.99 for the 14", $449.99 for the 15" and $699.99 for the 17" models.
The Inspiron 14 and 15 3000 Series will offer Braswell processors in early-August.
A 2-in-1 device with a 15.6" display, the new Inspiron 15 7000 Series 2-in-1 combines a forged aluminum structire with a battery life of up to 8 hours 54 minutes. This 2-in-1 rotates between four modes: tablet, laptop, tent and stand mode.
