Concord Camera Announces Low-Cost 6 Megapixel Camera for $299
Concord Camera today announced at Photokina the Concord 6340z - a high-performance 6 Megapixel/3X optical zoom digital camera for only $299.
The first 6 Megapixel digital camera offered by Concord, the 6340z features an all-metal housing, 3X optical zoom/4X digital zoom (for total 12x zoom), MPEG-4 high-quality movies with sound, manual and automatic controls, 16MB internal memory, and a SD card slot.
"With the introduction of the 6340z, Concord Camera is once again first to market with an affordably priced, 6 Megapixel point & shoot digital camera," said Connie Chan, Senior Marketing Manager. The Concord 6340z offers a unique combination of manual and automatic options for both the advanced and beginner photographers, including auto focus, continuous shooting at 5 frames per shot, dual mode self-timer, and more. Everyone, from first-time digital camera users to pros, will love the Concord 6340z.
Housed in a stylish metal body for the ultimate in design sophistication, the Concord 6340z is compact in size and rich in features. The camera is equipped with a 6.1 megapixel CCD sensor that produces high resolution images of 2848 x 2136 recorded pixels. The camera has an extremely high resolution 130K pixel 1.5" LTPS (low temperature poly-silicon) color LCD that makes framing and viewing easy indoors and outdoors. The Concord 6340z also offers a total 12X zoom capability (3X optical/4X digital), a Macro mode that takes close-up shots as close as 5cm/1.9", and a video mode that takes continuous TV quality MPEG-4 movie with sound up to 15 fps. The camera's sensitive controls and button arrangements are specially designed to react quickly to user's commands, resulting in effortless picture taking. The mode dial on the top of the camera provides easy access to auto picture mode for point and shoot ease or manual picture mode for advanced adjustments.
The 6340z includes everything needed to take pictures right away. It is pre-loaded with 16MB of internal memory, so there's never a problem if the user forgets an SD memory card or if the card runs out of memory. The camera will automatically save images to internal memory if no card is inserted. It also includes one rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, an AC adaptor, USB cable, video cable, wrist strap, pouch and MGI photo editing software. The Concord 6340z is expected to be available in November 2004 at a suggested retail price of $299.99 through Concord retailers and is compatible with Windows 98SE, 2000, ME and XP.
