Crucial already had a DDR5 Product that reached 6400MHz with CL38 @ 1.35V, and now improves even more with a CL32 @ 1.35V product that can be useful for gamers who wish to squeeze all the performance they can from their gaming rig.
The new series promises to deliver higher performance, lower latencies, and better bandwidth to fuel gaming wins and reduce performance bottlenecks. The DDR5-6400 2X16GB Kit Pro OC kit can be bought online at Crucial.com at the retail price of $300.99. Compared with other Crucial memory modules, we can see that now DDR5 prices have hiked up, due to the AI Boom, and now the DDR5-6000 2x16GB costs $255.99. While the DDR5-6400 2x16GB CL38 costs $272.99, keep in mind that those prices may change during Black Friday or other sales. For now, the 6400MHz are offered only in 32GB kits (2x16GB); if you need higher capacities, you will get higher CL numbers, at least from the Crucial brand.
The retail package has an interesting design and includes all the needed information for users to understand what is included.
Inside, you will find a blister protective case that includes the two 16GB modules.
The 32GB kit includes 2x16GB modules that include matt finish aluminum heat spreaders with camo pattern, without any RGB love. All eight Micron 16Gbit memory chips are on one side of the PCB in a single-rank configuration. At the front, you will only find the Crucial/Micron logos
, while at the back, you will get the Crucial DDR5 Pro logo and product speed, cache latency, and serial number. Installing the modules on a DDR5-enabled motherboard is not hard; just keep in mind that the side with the memory modules should look like the CPU cooler.
The low-profile heatspreaders make the modules compliant with JEDEC specs, and you can use those modules in any mini ATX system. The overall build quality is great, and you cannot go wrong with Crucial, since it has been one of the biggest memory manufacturers for many years. Due to the high bus efficiency of DDR5 technology, you can expect efficiency improvements that provide 36% more system bandwidth than DDR4.
