The EWS276-FIT (Fit6 4X4 Lite) Access Point is an interesting device from EnGenius that packs much performance at an affordable price range of $149 that most users can afford to buy. The FIT series includes either indoor or outdoor network devices with a high level of customization for this price range and best of all, real support and firmware updates, which competitors lack nowadays.
The retail package is simple and in order to power the device you need either a PoE network switch or a DC12V adapter that isn't included in the box. After downloading the FitXpress App, in a few minutes, you will set up your device easily and without any hassle. The device will auto-update itself and you can either create a new network or join an already created EnGenius network as a MESH extender device (only works with other EnGenius FIT devices).
The build quality is great, the same as with the business-oriented EnGenius device and EnGenius uses Mediatek MT7986A Quad-core A53 2GHz as the horsepower for this device, higher-end network EnGenius products use Qualcomm chipsets. There are 4 internal antennas x 2.4 GHz and 4 for the 5 GHz network with 5dBi power output. The included 2.5G LAN can boost network speeds and if your network switch supports it, you will get high transfer rates among your local network.
The FIT lineup offers a great performance/price ratio, you are getting a MESH-ready device that actually works and EnGenius offers many advanced tools for entry-level users either via the FitXpress app or via the web portal, which is great. The product can be bought directly from EnGenius and we have no problem suggesting this device to all users who wish to upgrade their WiFi network with MESH devices either indoor or outdoor.
