GameSir G8 Galileo Game Controller
5. Conclusion
The GameSir G8 Galileo has ultra-low latency due to its Type C connection. There isn't any included battery, it's powered via your phone battery. The device includes "Hall Effect sticks" that use non-contact magnetic sensors to ensure the sticks never wear down in their lifetime, preventing stick drift. The anti-friction glide rings also provide super-smooth stick control. This game controller also includes analog triggers, again with " Hall Effect" technology that enables high precision, with 100% Response Area and consistent smoothness. There’s also a quick switch to hair-trigger mode by holding M+LT/RT, perfect for FPS and action games or again via the GameSir app.
In order to use the device it is best advised not to use a phone case unless it's less than 1mm. Since this device includes a TypeC connection, you can use it either on the Android platform with controller-supported games as Soul Knight, Diablo Immortal, Minecraft, Fortnite, Dead Trigger 2, Asphalt 9: Legends, etc. and also under iOS with again controller-supported games as Genshin Impact, Resident Evil 4, COD Mobile, Soul Knight, Diablo Immortal, Minecraft, Asphalt 9: Legends, etc. Since you can use stream apps, the GameSir G8 Galileo supports Xbox Game Pass, PS Remote Play, Steam Link, Moonlight, etc.
With the included USB C port, users can charge their phone as well, in our case the Samsung S22 Ultra was "normal" charging, not super quick but anyway you won't be left without phone juice. Note that you cannot use the included TypeC for anything other than charging (USB to ethernet adapter for example). The headphones will pass through audio so this is another plus for this device. There isn't any travel case for the GameSir G8 Galileo and the device will work just fine even with Samsung Fold 5. Maybe the next version will have a microSD included for expansion as well.
Overall we find the GameSir G8 to be an honest product with a good retail price (sometimes comes down to 55 Euro with coupons from Aliexpress sellers), excellent build quality, design, and overall feel. The weight is good (252gr) and paired with a fast Android/iPhone device will make your portable gaming great. While the hardware is great, the software (GameSir App) does need further work and improvements in some areas. Some users don't use it at all, if you want to maximize performance and usability you should. There are alternative Android apps (Mantis Pro), which however cost and may or not offer increased performance/features. Concluding this review we highly suggest the G8 Galileo product to all users who are looking for a nice-big and affordable TypeC gaming controller for their mobile gaming, great work GameSir!
