"..As far as reading and writing performance, this drive was right on its numbers. The only disappointment I had at all was that for digital audio extraction the drive was somewhat slow. You only use this when you are making MP3 files on your PC from audio CDs. This drive was only able to grab digital audio at a 4x rate, compared to as high as 6x or 8x on some other similar drives. Not horrible, and not any affect on day to day use unless you make a lot of MP3 files a day. For reference sake, on this drive it takes 45 seconds to extract a 3 minute song, vs as low as 23 seconds on some others.

Acer has put together a nice drive and an easy to use software mastering package. Its a great package for the beginner, and the drive is fast enough to be competitive with the other drives on the market.." NULL
