Google Adds Games to Chromecast
Google announced Tuesday that is had added about game applications to its Chromecast streaming device. The Chromecast is a small "dongle" that plugs into most high-definition televisions as a means of connecting them to the Internet. Once it is plugged in, people can stream content from their mobile phones and tablets onto their televisions.
With the new apps, Chromecast will be able to use their phones or tablets as the controller and their TV screens like a game or score board to play classic games like Wheel of Fortune or Hasbro’s Monopoly Dash, Scrabble Blitz, Connect Four Quads and Simon Swipe on their big screen.
For those who like dancing and with the new Just Dance Now app, a smartphone can reward weach potential dancer with points according to his/her performacne.
In addition, Big Web Quiz and Emoji Party for Chromecast bring trivia to the TV.
A lot of streaming devices on the market, such as Apple TV, the Roku streaming stick and Amazon’s forthcoming Fire TV Stick have been designed to project a small screen onto a bigger screen.
Beyond inserting itself into your living room, the Chromecast is a way for Google to add fuel to its fast-growing Play Store, an online store where people can buy mobile applications and content like movies.
