Google Could Move Into the Home-Services Market
Google has hired part of Homejoy house-cleaning startup, signaling that the Internet giant may be interested in the home-services market as Amazon.com has already done.
Homejoy specializes in home cleaning and other related services and has operated in specific U.S. cities. Using the company’s application or website, users can book cleanings at their homes after entering information such as a ZIP code, a time and payment information.
Earlier this year, Amazon.com this year began a service that puts users in touch with home-repair professionals, and Yelp has a similar offering.
