Google Fiber Now Includes 3D Channels

Google Fiber Now Includes 3D Channels

Consumer Electronics Mar 8,2013 0

Subscribers of Google's Fiber TV service can now opt to watch a couple of new channels in 3D - 3net and ESPN3D. Google Fiber TV customers (who own 3D glasses and a 3D-capable TV) will now be able to watch 3D programming right in their living room. Subscribers to Googles Gigabit + TV Plan will get 3net, which features a library of original 3D programming, including natural history, documentary, action/adventure, kids and family, lifestyle and cuisine, concerts, movies, scripted series and more.

ESPN3D, the industry's first 24/7 3D sports network, is now available through Google Fiber for $5/month (plus tax) with a Gigabit + TV plan.

Launched last July, Google Fiber TV is offered at an additional cost as part of the company's Gigabit Internet service. Users can subscribe to the high-speed Internet alone for $70 a month or opt for TV and Internet for $120. A lower-speed Internet service is also available at no monthly cost but with a one-time installation fee of $300.

So far the service is limited to just two Kansas City, Kans., and Kansas City, Mo.
