Google has launched the Google Play Newsstand, an app that consolidates Google's Currents and Magazines apps into a single place. Google Play Newsstand is the new home for all Google Currents subscriptions and Google Play Magazines.

The app combines subscriptions to newspapers and magazines with content from blogs, RSS feeds, and other sources. The app will bring to your Android tablet or phone both free and paid breaking news and articles featuring audio, video and more.

Content categories include Arts & Photography, Business & Finance, Food & Drink and more. Users can subscribe to topics tagged to the articles that interest them most and also go offline with any news edition, topic or magazine without missing a page.
