Google Sites Continue To Lead The U.S. Search Market

Google Sites led the explicit core search U.S. market in September with 66.9 percent of search queries conducted, according to comScore, Inc.

Google Sites were followed by Microsoft Sites with 18 percent (up 0.1 percentage points) and Yahoo! Sites with 11.3 percent. Ask Network accounted for 2.5 percent of explicit core searches, followed by AOL, Inc. with 1.3 percent.

Comscore said that 18.7 billion explicit core searches were conducted in September, with Google Sites ranking first with 12.5 billion. Microsoft Sites ranked second with 3.4 billion searches, followed by Yahoo! Sites with 2.1 billion, Ask Network with 474 million and AOL, Inc. with 249 million (up 3 percent).
