Hitachi Maxell Ships New Digital Pen
Hitachi Maxell, Ltd. has initiated shipments of the "DP-201," a new digital pen product capable of converting analog information such as handwritten characters, illustrations and drawings into digital data.
Hitachi Maxell integrated optical components into a compact module and reduced the
size of electronic components and a circuit board. As a result, the company
succeeded in reducing the width by about 15% and the weight by about 20%, compared
to the previous "DP-101U/B." The digital pen is equipped with both USB and
Bluetooth interfaces for connection with PCs and mobile products. The battery
charger, which also functions as a USB interface, is cradle type so users insert
the pen with ease as if using a pen stand.
