Lenovo Reveals Wearable Smartband
Lenovo has posted information regarding a new smartband product on its website, hinting that the company could be preparing to launch the product soon. The "Smartband SW-B100" is a fitness tracker, which can record calories burned, steps taken and a user's heartrate, in addition to syncing with a smartphone through an appa.
Users can also customize notifications and reminders on the smartband and use it to unlock a Windows PC without manually entering passwords, according to the product page.
The smartband can work with Android and iOS mobile devices.
Lenovo does not want to stay out of the emerging market of wearables.
Earlier this year, Acer announced its Liquid Leap smartband and Asus has unveiled a smartwatch, called the ZenWatch. Apple's smartwatch also goes on sale early in 2015.
