Lexar Professional 1800x microSDXC 64GB UHS-II review
1. Features
We have in our hands the Lexar Professional 1800x microSD UHS-II card, a very fast and compact storage device designed for professional photographers, videographers, or a mobile device power users. Available in capacities of 32GB (microSDHC), 64GB and 128GB, the
cards leverage UHS-II technology (UHS Speed Class 3 (U3)) and provide a read transfer speed up to 1800x (270MB/s), giving you the speed you need to capture, transfer, and share adventures on the go.
- microSDHC UHS-II (UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) Class 10) 32GB - up to 270MB/s read, 250MB/s write
- microSDXC UHS-II (UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) Class 10)
- 64GB - up to 270MB/s read, 250MB/s write
- 128GB- up to 270MB/s read, 100MB/s write
The cards are also backwards compatible with UHS-I devices, performing up to the maximum thresholds of UHS-I speed capabilities (SDR104). The cards also work with older, non-UHS-I devices, performing at Class 10 speeds. We will have a look in the 64GB version of the microSDXC card (model # LSDMI64GCRBNA1800R ), which officially retails for $136.99 but can be purchased from Amazon.com for $99.95. The card's packaging is seen below:
The cards come with an SD UHS-II adapter for easy transfer between devices, and a microSD UHS-II USB 3.0 reader, allowing you to potentially experience the advertised high-speed file transfer (up to 270MB/s read, 250MB/s write), right out of the box. The highest transfer speeds can theoretically be achieved only when paired with a microSD UHS-II USB 3.0 reader. But as it is always the case, the card's actual performance will vary in real time tests.
The memory card is also bundled with a free lifetime copy of downloadable Image Rescue software. Image Rescue recovers most photo and select video files, even if they’ve been erased or the card has been corrupted.
Removing the card from the packaging, we find everything laid out in a plastic retainer as seen above.
Externally, the case is has black and gold textured plastic. The reader measures 1 1/4 inches (32mm) in length including the USB plug. It is 11/16 inches (17mm) wide and 3/8 inches (9mm) tall. The microSD card fits snugly in the slot.
In addition to the USB adapter, Lexar has packaged the microSDXC memory card with a full-size adapter.
