LG Brings B&O Sound To New G5 Smartphone
LG Electronics continues to feed us with uinformation about its new G5 smartphone, prior to its official release. The Korean company has agreed to Danish audio firm B&O PLAY to offer its smartphone users a high-end audio experience. LG will be the first company to offer Hi-Fi audio features in its snmartphones - including the upcoming flagship G5 - co-designed by B&O PLAY.
The announcement follows another official update from LG on the G5.
The G5 smartphone will be introduced on Feb. 21, a day before the opening of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. On the same day, LG's bigger rival Samsung will showcase its new flagship.
LG also hinted earlier that the G5 will come with a double screen that displays key information, such as the time and the remaining battery life. The feature was first adopted by the V10 smartphone last year. It's highly likely that the G5 will also have a metal frame to differentiate it from previous versions. Also, the new G-branded mobile phone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 application processor (AP).
While LG agreed that the MWC is the event to highlight its efforts in the mobile payment business, which is promising and highly potential for all tech titans from Apple and Google to Samsung, LG isn't ready to divert attention from its G5 at the MWC, as the company has delayed the official debut of LG Pay until the second quarter of this year.
LG Electronics has been struggling with its mobile division as emerging Chinese rivals continue to roll out new features on smartphones at low prices.
More consumers are flocking to products manufactured by budget service providers like Xiaomi and Huawei, forcing LG Electronics out of the top five in 2015 when it came to smartphone shipments.
