LG Velvet Specifications Unveiled
LG Electronics Inc. on Tuesday unveiled the specifications of its new "Velvet" smartphone ahead of its official launch event on May 7.
LG Velvet has a triple rear camera setup highlighted by its "raindrop" design features. It houses a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor, according to the company. On the front of the device, there will be a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
The smartphone's design features front-back symmetrical curves. It has a 6.8-inch FullVision OLED with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio.
It will be powered by a 4,300-mAh battery and the 5G-supporting Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset. It has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot supports up to 2TB cards.
The LG Velvet also sports an in-display fingerprint sensor and autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) recording system with two high-performing microphones. It will be available in four colors: aurora green, aurora gray, aurora white and illusion sunset.
The smartphone will also offer a secondary screen and a stylus pen to go up against Samsung’s foldable devices and phablet Galaxy Note phones.
LG hasn’t yet confirmed when it would launch the Velvet outside S. Korea.
