LG Innotek Co., the materials and mobile device component unit of the LG Group, has developed a new wireless charging transmission module for smartphones with charging speed equivalent to that of conventional wired chargers.
According to LG Innotek, the 15-watt wireless transmission module is capable of delivering the same power output to those of wired chargers. It allows users to boost power of an empty smartphone battery to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
The charger consists of two parts - a transmitter that supplies power to a mobile device in the form of a charging pad or a holder and a receiver embedded inside the smartphone that responds to the transmitter to charge battery.
The module has been standardized so that it supports a majority of smartphones embedded with charging receivers.
