
LG Takes On Samsung's Galaxy Note With Optimus Vu
LG plans to release Optimus Vu, a new 5-inch smart device, which will combine the characteristics of a smartphone and a tablet computer.
The company will showcase the new device at the Mobile World Congress held later this month in Barcelona, Spain. According to photos and a video released by LG, the device is comparable in size to Samsung's GALAXY Note offering. The GALAXY Note features a 5.3" HD Super AMOLED display and a full touch screen.
The Optimus has a 5-inch 4:3 display (1024 X 768) and will allow users to take nots on the screen using a stylus pen. The device is powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm APQ8060 SoC, 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, it has NFC capabilities, an eight megapixel camera and runs the Android 2.3 OS.
